Contributions to our legacy publication at Pabst Science Publishers can no longer be submitted. As a reference for the papers submitted for the last print issues, this page contains the essential processing information:
“Umweltpsychologie” is a scientific journal with the ambition to cover the entire spectrum of environmental psychology. All submitted manuscripts are peer-reviewed to ascertain their scientific quality. During this review process, the content and form of manuscripts are evaluated based on a standard set of criteria. In some cases, the review process may (exclusively) involve members of the editorial team.
Manuscript template
To illustrate these criteria and assist authors in meeting them, we created a manuscript template. This template is already configured in accordance with formal publication criteria. In addition, it contains all relevant guidelines for the structure and content of your manuscript. We ask authors to follow these guidelines and recommend working from the template.
Types of contributions
“Umweltpsychologie” publishes different types of scientific contributions. In addition to empirical reports and theoretical contributions to environmental psychology, we are glad to receive practice reports that describe activities or projects of practitioners in the field of environmental psychology. We also explicitly welcome the submission of informative null results and replication studies. Suggestions for other types of articles (e.g., essays, interviews) are appreciated as well but should be discussed with the editorial team prior to submission.
Manuscripts can be submitted as
- Regular article (maximum 7000 words, 5 figures/tables, 70 references)
- Short report (maximum 2500 words, 2 figures/tables, 20 references).
Word limit restrictions include footnotes, but not the abstract, reference list, tables, figures, and figure captions. Additional figures/tables are permissible if the text is shortened accordingly.
Submission process
To submit your manuscript, please send it in an editable file format via e-mail to the editorial team redaktion@umps.de. In this e-mail, please specify the article type of your submission (e.g., practice report). One of the editors will then organize the peer-review process, search for qualified reviewers, and contact you with an editorial decision based on their reviews. In general, this process takes about three months to be completed.
Reviewed manuscripts will either be accepted for publication, rejected, or returned to the authors for revisions. After publication, two copies of the published article will be sent to the author(s) by Pabst Science Publishers.
